FAQ Saturation Day 9/11/13
Frequently Asked Questions: (last updated 4/11/13)
1a. Are you going to go to Movieworld too?
No. Your Saturation ticket gives you entry to Movieworld after 2.30pm, but AYCF will be staying at Wet’N’Wild as our official base. If you choose to leave the Wet’n’Wild site during the day for whatever reason, you assume responsibility for your own needs off-site – we won’t be there.
1. Can I bring a friend who is not part of an Anglican group?
Of course, bring as many people as you like! As long as each person has filled out a registration form and their parents have signed it (if under 18), it’s all good.
2. What if I have an VIP/Annual/Season Pass?
Great! You can still join in with the whole group and should enter through the same Kokomo gate as the rest of our party between 9.30 and 10.30am. For risk management reasons, you will still need to submit a registration form, ensuring that a parent/guardian has signed the form, and don’t forget to bring your pass with you.
3. What if I’m under 18 and want to come by myself?
Our policy is that you need to be accompanied by a designated adult, approved by your parents in writing on the rego form, in a group no larger than ten. If you tell us where you’re from (e.g. a particular camp, parish or school), we may be able to connect you with an appropriate group and leader.
4. Who looks after transport?
Each individual will need to make his or her own arrangements for transport. Use your networks and see if you can arrange transport with others from your group/area. Public transport options are covered on the Wet N Wild website (www.wetnwild.com.au ).
5. Who supervises the day?
We have a designated area for the day – the Mammoth Falls Marquee. Our groups will use this as our base, and come and go from there, meet for lunch and drinks and for sunscreen application! There will be an AYCF staff member there at all times, and it is advised that groups consider bringing leaders who can take turns co-supervising the area. Your group members will be happy to know that someone familiar is at the shelter, in case they can’t find a friend or need a hand.
6. Suggestions for a group
If you are bringing a group of people from your parish/school/camp, consider the ratio of young people to leaders. The recommended ratio is 1 leader to 10 kids under 18. Extra leaders will need to register as well, but they are welcome to relax at the marquee and have a quiet day.
7. Once I register, will I hear again from AYCF?
Yes. We will email, post a letter, or call you, to confirm your attendance, and to let you know you’re expected. This can only happen if the registration form has all the relevant information on it! Please make sure you fill out all contact details correctly so we can look forward to your company on the day.
8. What are these surprises they’re all talking about?
I could tell you, but….
9. Are there discounts for groups?
As the tickets are discounted already for our LARGE group, there are no further discounts for bringing your whole congregation or gang. There may be payoffs of the community-building variety, but we’ll have to wait and see.
10. Do I get a wrist band for the day?
We’re trialling a new system this year to identify people in our group so that we can make sure our marquee is kept private and safe. When we meet you at the Kokomo gate, we’ll check your name and registration there, and then give you an ID mark for a day of fun in the sun!
11. What if I want to bring my own food?
You are very welcome to bring your own food. Just make sure that it is adequately cooled, or you have things that won’t be affected by heat. Make sure that you leave glass bottles/containers at home, as they won’t be allowed in the water park. Share BBQ’s are also available; these are coin operated and require $2 coins.
Glassware, sharp knives (except for acceptable knives to cut meat or cakes etc) and alcohol are not permitted in the park.
Wet’n’Wild Water World offers a wide variety of delicious foods that are available at restaurants and vendors within the park.
12. What should I bring?
Togs, towel, bottle of water, sunscreen, hat, footwear, something warm for the trip home, snacks in case you get super hungry, camera (optional). Remember that no sunglasses are allowed on the slides, even tucked into your togs! You can store bags in a locker for a fee, or you can leave them at the Mammoth Falls marquee all day.
13. What happens if I have to arrive late?
If you know you’re going to arrive after 11am, write that as a ‘question for the organiser’ on your rego form, put this number in your phone (0409744507 – Jonathan Kemp), and when you arrive, call me and I’ll come to find you.
14. Are there limits to the rides I can go on?
Wet ‘n’ Wild has placed height requirements on a number of attractions, so check out the following paragraph:
Park Awareness:
Rides and Attractions:
Some of the slides in the park are high speed slides, so participants are encouraged to read all the signs which are located at the bottom and top of each ride. All signs will explain the safety instructions and riding procedures of reach ride. All rides excluding the Wave Pool, Calypso Beach, Buccaneer Bay, and the Flumes have a height requirement. The height requirement will be located at the bottom and top of every ride and all participants must meet these ride requirements to ride these attractions. The attractions in the H2O Extreme Zone have very specific height requirements and weight restrictions that apply to these rides. So please ensure that you read all signage carefully before riding. If you are unsure, please talk one of the Wet’N’Wild staff for assistance. If you do fall short of these height requirements, there are other rides available for your enjoyment. The new Buccaneer Bay attraction does not have a height restriction and can be enjoyed by those 10 years and under. The Mammoth Falls has a height requirement lower than that of other rides; the requirement on this attraction is 100cm. More information about the rides can be found at www.wetnwild.myfun.com.au.
Safety Tips:
- Absolutely NO GLASSWARE is permitted in the park.
- Eyewear is not permitted on any ride
- Apply plenty of sunscreen regularly and wear a hat and shirt when possible
- Please ensure when you leave for the day that any rubbish is placed in the bins provided in your area
- Obnoxious, unruly behaviour or blatant disregard for park rules or the comfort and safety of others will result in expulsion from the park without refund.
14. What happens if I need First Aid?
AYCF will have a first aid kit at our marquee area, with trained staff on hand. Wet ‘n’ Wild staff will be at all rides to assist participants if needed. There is also a nurse’s station available inside the grounds.
15. Will you be supplying water and sunscreen?
We will have cold water available at our marquee. Please ensure you bring your own sunscreen and apply it regularly. We strongly encourage you to wear a sunshirt / rashie.
16. Which rides are open to me on the day?
Availability of parks, rides and attractions is subject to change, delay, cancellation or closure due to inclement weather, preventative maintenance, refurbishment, or other operational requirements. Updates on availability can be found online at www.myfun.com.au on the park’s “Attractions Maintenance” webpage under the Attractions section. Reminder: Buccaneer Bay is designed for children 10 years and under only.
17. Will I have to pay for any rides?
ZipLine, SkyCoaster and FlowRider at Wet’n’Wild Water World are “Pay as You Play” attractions and not covered in the cost of your entry ticket. For details on these attractions, please visit the website at www.wetnwild.myfun.com.au
18.What do I do when I get there?
Arrival at Park: For Kokomo Gate, turn RIGHT at Wet’n’Wild’s main entry roundabout. Follow the path from the carpark to the Kokomo Gate itself and be ready to identify yourself to an Anglican staff member. We can’t admit unaccompanied minors, so please ensure you have your designated adult with you at the Gate, as well as your Saturation ticket on your phone or printed out (or your Season Pass if you have one).
19. Should I take valuables with me?
To secure your personal belongings, lockers are available in park for an additional cost. We recommend their use for all valuables. Please refer to the park map for locker locations. Each locker will hold approximately three small backpacks. AYCF advises that you bring only essentials as we cannot be responsible for any misplaced items during the Saturation event.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there! (This FAQ sheet may be updated at any time leading up to the event.)
